In fact, vacuum cleaning machines have been around for quite while in hi-fi world. But with the growing sales of records in recent years, the interest to vacuum cleaning machines also increased. More and more audiophile wants to have these machines and this is causing new companies to enter the market. Okki Nokki is one of these companies.

When I started searching for a record cleaning machine, Okki Nokki was able to attract my attention. The small but sturdy aluminum chassis hosts a powerful vacuum system and rotation system. Furthermore, the reservoir for the accumulated fluid is also inside the chassis.
Okki Nokki has two control buttons. One of them controls the rotation system and it has 3 positions: Forward, backward and stop. As you noticed, unlike to the some competitors, Okki Nokki can move the platter in both directions. This simplifies the brushing process and makes it more effective. Other button controls the vacuum motor. After brushing the record, by running the motor on forward direction you can collect the dirty liquid.
To drain the reservoir, there is a simple application. Remove the plug at the end of the hose extending outwardly from the reservoir, and simply raise the back side of the machine. After 20 – 30 LP’s you have to drain it but even if you forgot; a sensor in the reservoir stops the operation. By the way, Okki Nokki certainly disapproves the usage of machine while the hose of the reservoir is unplugged.
After I acquired Okki Nokki and see color of the waste water of a cleaning session, I’d say that this is a good investment. Supposedly, I was cleaning each LP before putting it in my archive. Okki Nokki, I’ll keep it!
